Graduate Fashion Show will be held in Ha Noi this weekend.
Video fashion show S tudents from the London College for Fashion Studies (LCFS) will present fashion films for the first time to showcase their designs at Video killed the fashion show star: A design by Nguyen Tan Hai Nam in the collection Memoir of Edo will be presented during the three-day fashion show and exhibition. Thirteen students promise to impress visitors with outfits presented by models as well as on video during the three-day show Ready to Go from Friday to Sunday at the Garden Shopping Centre, Me Tri Street, Ha Noi. "The exhibition this year follows up the Itinerary fashion show by students held last year," said design lecturer May Cortazzi. "The annual fashion show of outfits designed by students creates a connection between theory and practice for each student." This year students have a new challenge as they had to make a short film to present their designs. "Showcasing our designs through videos is really a difficult assignment," said student Vu Ta Linh. "Selecting models to star in the video is much more difficult than choosing models for photo shoots," he said. "We also have to find suitable locations and camera operators for the films as they are an important factor to highlight my inspiration and the collection's concepts. "My collection is inspired by Vietnamese traditions and heritage, one of the main themes is the symbolic meaning of the lotus." Each student finds their own inspiration to create women's wear for autumn/winter and spring/summer collections. Trinh Thi Dai Trang was inspired by the punk fashion adopted by rebellious youth in the 1970s, Natural Hybrids by Nguyen Tra My was inspired by the soft appearance and fluid movement of the jellyfish and Doan Phuong Thao offers a classic look at ao dai (traditional long dress) combined with butterfly patterns.
