VietNamNet Bridge – During a press briefing to release two episodes of comic book Why on Wednesday at Express Cafe in HCMC’s District 1, Tri Viet-First News Company and Dai Viet Global Joint Stock Company controversially withdrew the publications after journalists pointed out a catalogue of mistakes in the books.
Why – a series of scientific comic books produced by Yea Rim Dang Publishing House – was originally written in Korean.
Dai Viet Global has bought the copyright, translated and edited the comic into Vietnamese and the firm expected to release the comic book into 51 episodes.
However, Nguyen Huu Phuoc, director of Tri Viet-First News informed that the company will replace translators and invite experts to check the scientific information of the next episodes before publishing.
The book was first published by Yea Rim Dang Publishing House in South Korea in 2003. Until now, it has been translated into many languages such as English, Japanese, French, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian and Indonesian.
