HCMC Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with HCMC Association of Fine Arts has opened an exhibition, displaying about 200 artworks made by 180 artists and sculptors.
Pieces are made of diverse materials such as oil on canvas, silk, acrylic, lacquer, mixed media, water colors, digital arts and graphic arts for paintings as well as bronze, metal, ceramic and wood for sculptures. Works are made in many styles from abstract, realism, impression, expression and symbolism.
Artists depict many contents including still life, daily activities and they also highlight the nation’s sovereignty over Truong Sa.
On this occasion, the HCMC Association of Fine Arts also gives 18 scholarships worth VND10 million each for artists and sculptors who express their creativeness in themes on the nation’s sea issue and the development of the city. Moreover, the association also give 15 awards worth VND8 million for artists to chase down their ideas as well as 10 awards worth VND3.5 million each for young artists.
The show runs till the end of the month at the museum, 97A Pho Duc Chinh Street in District 1.
