The opening ceremony for the biggest fine arts exhibition of the year in Ho Chi Minh City was held at the Fine Arts Museum in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on August 18, 2012.
The exhibition features 195 works by 186 famous painters and sculptors from the HCMC Fine Arts Association. This is the biggest exhibition in HCMC in 2012.
On this occasion, the HCMC Fine Arts Association also supports 18 works on the themes of sea and island, and building Ho Chi Minh City, with 10 million VND for each.
The HCMC Fine Arts Association also supports the fund granting prizes for the artists, encouraging them to pursue their themes.
The young sculptor Do The Thinh, a graduate of the HCMC Fine Arts University who won the “young artist” prize, shared, “My work, titled “Goc Pho" (a corner of the city), is inspired by wandering children. I was very surprised that my work was awarded.”./.
