Vietnam Circus Federation will hold a program titled “Bay cung chu Cuoi – Chị Hang” (Flying with the Moon Boy and Chang’e) and an animal circus show to welcome the Vietnam Stage Day (August 12th on the lunar calendar) at the Central Circus Theatre in Hanoi from September 26-30.
The event will include a variety of circus acts such as “Du nhen bay” (spider swinging) by Hai Quan – Khanh Du; “Di tren day thep” (going on steel wire) act by Duc Vinh – Thu Ngan; “Tung hung tap the” (collective juggling) by Ha Binh, Huu Cuong and Dam Vinh Thieu; “Dung tay” (standing with hands) by Manh Hung; and fire whirling.
Besides the acts showing off skill, boldness and flexibility, there will be clowns and juggling acts . The children will have the opportunity to enjoy the circus artists controlling elephants, horses, bears, pythons and training smart dogs. Besides these, a fun Mid-autumn festival atmosphere will be created with autumn lamps with folk characters, children’s music throughout the scene, and Lion dances.
Vietnam circus federation leaders hope the training of the artists will result in an attractive, thrilling and ingenious show for the audience while honouring the stage artists.
The Vietnam Stage Day is a once a year chance for artists across the country to get together, and pay tribute to the theatre’s ancestors who laid the foundation for the national art forms and contributed to their development through the years./.
