The event will be held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with FAFIM Vietnam and the Vietnam Film Studio. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected “The scent of burnt grass” film and another ten films for screening. “The scent of burnt grass” film, screen-played by screenwriter Hoang Nhuan Cam and produced by Vietnam Feature Film Studio, is an adaptation from memoirs and diaries of war-veterans under the ‘Forever 20 Bookshelf.’ As the film director Nguyen Huu Muoi said, the film is an epic on the burning summer of 1972 in the ancient citadel of Quang Tri. All four leading actors, Hoang-Thanh-Thang-Long, new students of the Literature Faculty at the General University (now the University of Social Sciences and Humanity), volunteered to join the army and three of them sacrificed their lives for the national salvation. Hoang was the only survivor. The film features Hoang’s present life and his life during the war.
