VietNamNet Bridge - The contemporary dance program “Europe meets Vietnam” will be staged for its second time in Hanoi, at the Youth Theatre on September 28-29.
The festival will introduce three dance plays from Belgium, Germany and Vietnam.
Through the event, audiences will have the opportunity to learn more about new trends in contemporary dance in the Europe and Vietnam.
Vietnam’s representative at the event is the Vietnam Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Belgium’s Wallonie-Bruxelles mission will bring about “Lamento”, by choreographer Michèle Anne De Mey, performed by senior dancer Gabriella Iacono. The work features the lost of love and a deceitful love. The music comes from Arianna, an opera by Claudio Monteverdi (1567 – 1643).
Meanwhile, Germany will introduce a dance play about a woman who suffers from absent-minded syndrome, the last stage, who is always sunken in dream. This is a work by choreographer Helena Waldmann.
The program is organized by the Vietnam Opera and Ballet Theatre in conjunction with the Goethe Institute in Hanoi and the Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation to Vietnam.
