As many as 120 Vietnamese tourist businesses have won the 13 th Guide Awards for their outstanding contributions to the country’s tourism sector.
According to Thoi bao Kinh Te Viet Nam (Vietnam Economic Times), the winners include 29 hotels; 34 resorts and eight providers of apartment leasing services; 25 restaurants, bars and cafés; 10 beauty salons and health care establishments; 10 travel and tour transport companies; and four sports and entertainment service companies.
Businesses that have won the award for many consecutive years are the Caravelle Hotel Saigon, the Melia Hanoi Hotel, Buffalo Tours and Luxury Travel.
These businesses were selected by readers and the editorial staff of The Guide, a publication of Thoi bao Kinh te Viet Nam , based on such criteria as the quality of infrastructure and services, environmental friendliness and contributions to the sector.
The winners will be honoured at a ceremony in the southern coastal city of Vung Tau on August 18.
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first six months of 2012, Vietnam welcomed over 3.36 million international tourists, up 13.9 percent year-on-year./.
