VietNamNet Bridge - Thien Trang, My Van, Duong Thanh, Ngoc Thuy, Nga Truc and Mai Giang performed in a fashion show in New York. Earlier, the producer of the Vietnam's Next Top Model 2012 announced that this is the bonus for the top five contestants.
Episode 4 of the Vietnam's Next Top Model 2012 with the remaining 14 contestants was aired last Sunday, but the list of the top 6 contestants is believed to be leaked.
At the fashion show by designer Edwing D'Angelo in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week held in Limelight Marketplacem, New York on September 9, people saw the appearance of six girls of the Vietnam's Next Top Model 2012: Thien Trang, Nha Truc, Kha My Van, Duong Thi Thanh, Ngoc Thuy and Mai Thi Giang.
Many suspect that these are the contestants in the top six because at the press conference introducing the new season of the Vietnam's Next Top Model 2012, the organizers revealed information that the top 5 contestants would have the opportunity to visit New York – a fashion capital of the world to take fashion photos and cover for a famous magazine.
On the afternoon of September 10, information about the first of the top 6 was revealed when Cao Thien Trang appeared in the show by Nina Skarra on September 8 in New York.
Several hours after the first information about Cao Thien Trang appeared, the entire images of six contestants of the Vietnam’s Next Top Model in the fashion show on September 9 of Edwing D'Angelo was exposed.
So one more season, the results of the Vietnam’s Next Top Model was exposed in advance. Last year, when episode 8 was aired, with the remaining nine contestants, the list of top four contestants was revealed when Le Thuy, Hoang Thuy, Tra My and Thuy Trang performed in Singapore.
The leakage of information like that is very detrimental to the competition and it is also not under the control of the producers because they only signed confidentiality contracts with the contestants. When sending contestants overseas to participate in public shows, the producers are difficult to manage the image of contestants.
Information security is a big problem with reality shows which are broadcasted live. Last year, three Next Top Model contestants - Thuy Duong, Hoang Oanh and Phuong Nghi – were claimed for compensation by the producers, with VND5 billion ($250,000) each, for exposing information about the competition on their blogs. However, the case was quickly subsided when the two sides agreed to sit down for negotiation.
