The tour is split into a morning and afternoon schedule, with a tasty lunch in between! At 08.00a.m there will be a pick up from your hotel and departure for the Silver Pagoda located in the Royal Palace enclosure and the royal gardens.
● Morning trip will visit the National museum, Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda are sitting a near the river front. National museum was built in the colonial period 1926 were collected the statues and antiques from all over of the country to house in for keep on eyes to protect and study, now became of one the popular place to visit. Royal Palace was built on 1434 by the king Pognayat after he leaf Angkor where one of the good location for commercial and agriculture. The Silver Pagoda, also known as the Pagoda of the Emerald Buddha, named after the statue housed there, was created by King Norodom in 1892. The floor is comprised of more than 5,000 silver blocks, weighing a total of 6 tones.
From here we view the many carvings, statues, pottery and bronzes on display in the National Museum. Before lunch we also visit Wat Phnom, widely acknowledged as the site for the foundation of Phnom Penh in 1372.
● After lunch we become acquainted with Cambodia’s tragic recent past at the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, The Tuol Sleng Museum or Museum of Genocide is testament to a more recent and bloody past. Originally this building used to be a high school, until in 1975, it became the Khmer Rouge's main torture and interrogation center, gaining the acronym 'S-21'. The next stop in the afternoon is the killing fields of Choeung Ek. Our day ends with a stroll around the Russian Market.
