Revisit battle sites from Nui Dat, Long Tan, Long Phuoc and Minh Dam

Enjoy daily life of provinces and nice beaches at Vung Tau, Long Hai

Day 1: Saigon – Nui Dat - Vung Tau (L)
Depart Saigon this morning with the guide from Indochina Travel Service and travel by road to the first stop, the site of the former Nui Dat Task Force base. Little remains of the vast camp except the columns of the main gate. The former runway is now a wide street in the local village and what was the heli-pad is now a soccer field. A school established by Australian veterans is nearby. Later, drive past the location of the Horseshoe (access not permitted these days due to mining activity) to the Decourtney Rubber Plantation. Pause to reflect at the Long Tan Cross before continuing on to the Long Phuoc Tunnels and visit Minh Dam (no longer the ‘Secret Zone’) and Long Hai. Continue on into Vung Tau, visiting Ba Ria Market en route. A large antenna is still visible on ‘Radar Hill’. Stay overnight at hotel in Vung Tau.
Day 2: Vung Tau - Saigon (B)
Vung Tau sightseeing includes Back Beach – the site of an Australian logistics group and the Peter Badcoe Club (nothing remains at all). The area is now dominated by a massive war memorial. Also visit Front Beach areas, Bao Dai Summer House, the airport area (many will remember as the home of ‘Wallaby Airlines’ and our ‘hueys’), the ever bustling town centre and the market area. Return to Saigon with your guide this afternoon. End of services by Indochina Travel Service.
