Day 1: Saigon – Vinh Long homestay (L, D)

At 7.30am, you will be picked up at the hotel and set off on your journey by road, leaving the cityscape of Ho Chi Minh behind as you make your way to the Mekong Delta. Your first stop is Vinh Long market, where you can have photos of fish, shrimps, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, vegetable...After that, our private boat will take you to the brick kilns; here you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. Then, visit nursery garden and communicate with Mr. Tiger or his son, successful Vietnamese peasants. We will enjoy fresh fruits from his garden, homemade rice wine and listen to the traditional music. The rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on canals. During journey, you will see the peaceful scenery, traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves as well as daily local river life. If wishing, bike is available for short ride on village paths. In the afternoon, by boat, we arrive at the lush orchards of Vinh Long, gather at a house where you will be the host tonight. You will join to prepare dinner by catching shrimps and fish or do cooking. In the evening, you walk leisurely to nearby houses and sharing daily life of Mekong Delta.

Day 2: Cai Be –Saigon (B, L)

Early breakfast, say goodbye to our host and then enjoy the boat trip to Cai Be floating market. An optional stop at local workshops where you can see how rice paste, coconut candy and pop-rice, pop-corn are made. It is also interesting to visit the handicraft village where you can see how the local make some special products: making rice-net for spring-rolls, fish sauce and soya sauce, cooking salt, sewing coconut-leaves for cottage proof, etc… The cruise will end at around 10.30 am in Cai Be town where the waiting vehicle transfers us back to Saigon.
