Phuoc Son Travel Guide
Phuoc Son is one of mountainous districts of Quang Nam Province besides the two towns: Tam Ky and Hoi An.
What to do?
During the American war, Ho Chi Minh trail (also called Truong Son trail) was the most important road for supplying and transporting weapons, goods, food and military supplies from the north to the south. The section crossing Quang Nam is over 100km long and used to be one of Truong Son's most dangerous places, having had many fierce combats such as Kham Duc town (Phuoc Son).
Nowadays, Phuoc Son serves as a link between Kontum and Hoi An on the old Ho Chi Minh Trail; visitors enjoy the rural landscape as well as spectacular scenery.
Another historic site belongs to Phuoc Son District is Ngok-Ta-Vak entrenched fortification, one of the famous combats during the war. Nowadays, due to the destruction of time and natural disasters only the heliport remains surrounded by mountain ranges in four directions.
